Bio

Den danske fløjtenist Janne Thomsen har etableret sig på verdensplan som en yderst succesfuld og efterspurgt solist. Hun påbegyndte sine musikalske studier som 4­-årig og blev senere kåret som “Young Musician of the Year” i Danmark. Efter sine studier ved Royal Academy of Music i London og i solistklassen på Conservatoire de Musique de Paris fortsatte hun som prisvinder i fremtrædende fløjtekonkurrencer i Prag, Paris, Bayreuth, Rom, Wien, Paris og Boston. Ligeledes er Janne Thomsen blevet tildelt legater af Dronning Margrethe II og Prins Henriks fond, samt Augustinusfonden, Holstebro Musikpris og Gadeprisen. I 2016 blev hun tildelt titlen ARAM, “Associate of the Royal Academy of Music”, en hæder uddelt til musikere, der har gjort en særlig indsats I musikkens verden.


Janne Thomsen har optrådt som solist med orkestre og ensembler heriblandt English Chamber Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica, Salzburg Camerata, Vienna Chamber Orchestra og Moscow Soloists. Hun optræder med anerkendte solister så som Maxim Vengerov, Gidon Kremer, Janine Jansen, Pierre Laurent Aimard, Yuri Bashmet, Joshua Bell, Jana Bouskova, Steven Isserlis og Mischa Maisky. Hun har haft et tæt samarbejde med ledende komponister, heriblandt Sofia Gubaidulina, Hans Werner Henze, Wolfgang Rihm, Giya Kancheli, Peteris Vasks og Michael Berkeley.

Biography in English

Danish flutist Janne Thomsen has established herself worldwide as an extremely successful and in-demand soloist. She began her musical studies as a 4-year-old and was later named "Young Musician of the Year" in Denmark. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London and in the soloist class at the Conservatoire de Musique de Paris, she continued as a prize winner in prominent flute competitions in Prague, Paris, Bayreuth, Rome, Vienna, Paris and Boston. Janne Thomsen has also been awarded scholarships by the Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik's Foundation, as well as the Augustinus Foundation, Holstebro Music Prize and the Street Prize. In 2016, she was awarded the title ARAM, “Associate of the Royal Academy of Music”, an honor bestowed on musicians who have made a special contribution to the world of music.


Janne Thomsen has performed as a soloist with orchestras and ensembles including the English Chamber Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica, Salzburg Camerata, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Moscow Soloists. She performs with renowned soloists such as Maxim Vengerov, Gidon Kremer, Janine Jansen, Pierre Laurent Aimard, Yuri Bashmet, Joshua Bell, Jana Bouskova, Steven Isserlis and Mischa Maisky.
